Home brew birdie bread

Are any of you guys home brewers? Did you know you can use your spent grains to make birdie bread or doggie treats? Some people also make bread, cookies etc out of it. Spent grains are the grains that are soaked in hot water to add flavor and color to home brews. Do NOT use grain that has hops in it. Hops are toxic to dogs, do not know if they are toxic to birds or not but I will not risk it. My grains come slightly crushed and they are just steeped in hot water for 1/2 hour then removed and tossed away. Instead of throwing them away I used them to make birdie bread. I took 4 cups of soaked grain, added 1 box of jiffy corn muffin mix, a bit of honey, some peanut butter, a 1/2 cup of applesauce, and 2 eggs, then added enough flour to make a dough. I then added minced cauliflower, broccoli and carrots and a bit of flax seed. Mixed all up and dropped in bird seed to coat. Baked until firm at 350.

No I haven't, I have no idea what it is for...lol other than it is a supplement, where do you get it? We also made doggie treats with 4 cups spent grain, 1 cup peanut butter, 1 cup flour and 2 eggs baked at 350 for 1/2 hour then turned down to 250 until dry and hard... 2 fussy dogs have tried them so far and LOVE them...lol
