Talking Birdie Bread a hit with Margarita!!!

The birdie bread was a hit with my GCC Margarita today. I divided them up and froze the rest of the birdie bread for future use. Thought I would post a picture today of her eating her birdie bread and enjoying it!

Kennedy, here is what I did. She is super picky so I had to be sneaky with the birdie bread.
1 box corn muffin mix
1 egg
2/3 cup organic applesauce, unsweetened, natural (instead of milk)
pineapple
carrots
blueberries
raspberries
broccoli slaw mix(bagged by the salad isle all organic)
corn
watermelon(seedless)

Bake as directed, I think it says 20 minutes, but I left mine in muffin tins for 23 minutes since it was dense from the apple sauce. I didn't put in seed since she gets Higgens conure seed mix daily(which has pellets too). She is very picky but she went to town on this. I used the paper muffin liners in my muffin pan. I cut the muffins in quarters, and froze the rest and left 2 out to heat up as she likes them warm. She LOVES carrots and brocolli and carrots and fruit. She is picky about corn and apples. She will throw them if they are not hidden in the birdie bread. She is a mess. She throws her pellets too, so I make sure she gets her veggies everyday. I have ordered the Harrisons mash too, but it hasn't showed up just yet. Should be here in the next day or two though. I searched and searched to make sure the foods were safe for her and printed out the toxic list and stuck it on the fridge as a reminder when I am fixing her food. Just trying to be a good birdie mommy. I want her to live a long and happy and healthy life.

Thank you, I didn't know if it would work but she loves it, and it gets her to eat apples or applesauce and corn, which she does not like fresh (she throws these). I am just glad I can feed her healthy foods along with her seed. Still trying new things and hoping she starts loving more things later on.

Thanks for sharing Diana, I will have to try that one too! She is new to us. We have only had her a week. My good friend is a breeder of GCC's and indian ringnecks, and she offered us a GCC baby after my heartbreaking experience with a baby parrotlet. That story is under the rainbow bridge forum, but it was so rough. I am so thankful for her and how much she helped me and offering me our GCC margarita. She loves veggies and fruits and birdie bread, she also goes crazy over cuttle bone. LOL
