Cool Just chilling

So my GCC is about 9 weeks old now, still very young and full of immature energy but we're getting there! I've been working with him to get used to being upside down and flipping him over in my hand, and last night it finally stuck! He actually stayed laying on his back and even completely fell asleep in my hand as my mom and I are silently panicking trying to find our phones to snap a picture without waking him up. Since I've only ever had tiels, and never really trained them to do tricks, this is a huge deal for me. Still freaking out about it, actually. He's such a chill little bird, and so smart! I'm amazed at how quickly he picked up on it.

Started by doing this on his own.

And over the past few days we progressed to this!

So much fun when he stays like that for a bit. Next step is to get him to stay like that when I put him down on my lap. Training birds is so rewarding! They catch on so quickly. Love your sig picture (:

Thank you guys! (: The turquoise are really lovely, Jill. They're one of my favorites as well. Maybe someday, lol.

He is cute! It's a good sign since it means that he trusts you enough to lay in that position for you.

Conures are smart so with a little bit of work you can teach him a lot of tricks.

I also have a pineapple conure who does not like cameras, phones and videos so I have a hard time taking pictures of him. Here he is (as you can see he's getting ready to escape as soon as he saw the camera...)

What a cutie! My tiels are pretty camera shy, they'll stop whatever cute thing they're doing whenever it comes out. It'll be fun to see what he'll learn in the future, I'm just as new to the tricks as he is.
