getting nesty?

i posted a thread on here about munch building a nest out of her veggies in the corner or the cage. i clean it every morning. remove the nest in the morning each day. shes bringing the veggies over from her dish and shredding them and putting them under the grate in the left corner of the cage.
ive rearranged the cage and everything. long nights is wasted on her. she wakes up at the crack of dawn regardless how dark the cage is covered. i cant remove her shredders as theyre her veggies! i cant remove the nest box as its her cage, on the floor!

i just caught her sleeping there and thats a sign that shes getting closer to seeing that as a nest spot. shes always been more aggressive in this corner of the cage, but i dont get why i didnt see the red flags before. now shes determined to protect that spot and build a nest there....

her "nest" and her guarding it. today it was of kale

Little brat. Have you thought of, for a little while, maybe taking the papers out of the tray? Maybe that will make things different enough to break the cycle. It means you'd have to wipe down the tray in the evenings, but it's not so bad. I had to do that with my linnies for a while; the female was determined to shred newspaper from the bottom and was hurting her foot trying to reach it and pull it up

Yeah, I'm thinking maybe taking out the paper so it looks different with the black bottom might throw her off a bit and make things unfamiliar so maybe she'll not spend so much time there

i took the paper out today. she still plays on the ground. its her favourite place to be. i also opened the curtains and opened the window. she is busy looking out the window right now since her cage is in front of it (usually curtains down to prevent drafts, but its nice out today). shes enjoying it. might take her mind off of it too im hoping.

haha! I had to laugh at her, she's very protective looking. She seems like she really wants some babies!

no, no more birds, especially lovebirds. that would be too noisy here and theres no garantee they'd get along and we cant have another cage. that and, my next planned parrot i want is the pionus! thats garanteed!

i love the lovies but i dont think a 3rd would be a good idea. we have bad luck. and munch is top bird in the flock. shes very aggressive. and a tad young to breed. 8 months old now

On the bright side, if Munch lays an egg you will no longer have to wonder about his/her sex.

true enough lol she hasnt laid, though she still is gaining weight, but so is mango. could be because they were clipped before and are now flighted so they can be gaining back the lost muscle....

i think i stopped her... though i dont get why or how.....

since i gave her a jingle cat ball to play with she hasnt been nesty. shes been beating up the ball or putting it in her nest spot.... so maybe shes done?
