Cool taming Bob

So the other day Bob took some biscuit out of my hand inside his cage.
Well today he let me stroke him!
I gave him his biscuit, he dropped it but didnt move away.
So I touched the end of his tail. And talked softly and then moved my hand up and stroked his back. He seemed to enjoy it. Then we played with his toys after he'd had enough tickles!
I'm amazed! He is taming so well.
He's a good bird.

They'll have to get creative with various combinations, or, if they are like Daisy, they'll drag something over from another site.

She still didn't explain how to do that! I've been waiting.

I am also quite impressed with your progress because most of the articles written about IRNs claim you can't tame them once they are older. I bet you didn't read that. Most great things happen when people don't read the accepted "truth", so they just do what no one else thought could be done.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

I read that they tame up well if you spend time with them every day.

He wouldn't have of yesterday again.
He's being pretty good though.
I do worry that he spends time studying my face.
I wonder if he working out the best place to bite!

I'm glad that he's getting more and more tame for you. Regardless of the species of parrot I believe any of them can be tamed even when they're older! I'd like to get an IRN just to try it out

As for the forum thing Nanay, I just literally drag them across, I hold onto the little icon or whatever they are and drag it into this window and into the chat box... NOW YOU ALL KNOW MY SECRETS!

Daisy, you remind me of when I was younger and not very good at being told what to do.
I almost killed myself proving a point.
If I was told you couldn't then I would!
And you wanna try taming a rosella, they really are untameable.
Even hand reared will not stay tame with constant handling!

Rosellas can be super sweet! I've handled golden mantled and crimson and with a lot of patience they can be great. Most birds seem impossible to tame half the time but you CAN do it!

I'm good at being told at what to do, I just don't like people telling me what I'm doing is wrong, especially when I know that I am 100% right

I've handled tons of wild birds and I've got them all trained really well. Have you tried stick training Bob? It wprls a charm, seriously. It's by far my favourite method!

If you don't mind me asking, what happened!?

Yeah people,
Stupid huh, all because I was told you cant do over 20 round a certain bend. I did 28! Did not make it!
Wrote my skid lid, leathers and bike off.
Never again! No more motorbikes for me!

I think maybe it was too early for stroking Bob,
He was nervous today.
Or it could've been the fact that glock, my male tiel wouldn't stop singing
