Question Concerning behavour??

My sun conure has been "begging" for food a little lately, more head bobbing then noise. Tonight he tried to swallow a peanut like he would with formula. I just gave him some warmed peas and corn and hes eating them now. Question is should I be concerned??

Also my teil stormy has figured out how to copy my whinging dog, he whinges when I leave and get home. Anyway storm is nearly as loud as the dog! What are the chances my sunny will mimic too? My dog really doesnt winge much, im suprised storm picked it up and I didnt realise teils could even make those kinda noises lol.

Are you 100% sure he was fully weaned? That seems pretty odd. Try feeding him mash with bits of seeds and pellets in so he's less likely to get something stuck.

As for the noise, sunnies can mimic but I've not seen it often. What you may find though is that he will try and out shout the others haha! My cockatiel does it. If something is loud he gets louder!

As far as the head bopping goes I wouldn't be concerned. trying to swallow a peanut would worry me a bit, as it might get stuck in his throat. My suggestion would be to not give him anything very big.

As for the teils copying your dog, mine copy all kind of things. such as ringing like a telephone, clicking like an alarm, squeaking like a dog squeak toy, whistling, songs, and learning If your happy and you know it. My one teil neko Is starting to make his own weird but cute little songs . So far neither my Mom's sun conure or my Green cheek conure have picked up any of these sounds. But anything is possible.

I agree with Daisy that your little one may be not be weaned. As a general rule, parrots don't swallow things they shouldn't, so swallowing the peanut is concerning.

He didnt swallow it and ive since removed his nuts... ah ...peanuts hehe. Its just weird cause he eats tons, my heart did skip when I saw him attemping to swallow it like formula. As long as he keeps eating all should be good....right? The breeder said he had been weaned for three weeks, I actully got him at a discount cause she had trouble selling the two. Ill keep you guys posted
