Sun conure biting

Starburst has always bit; but normally not hard, and only when he is super excited or mad. Lately he's started randomly biting enough to draw blood when my finger is anywhere near him, and has gotten onto my kids shoulder to bite their face. He always wants to be on people, not one to play alone. I've done tricks to keep him occupied, set him down when he bites. It seems to be getting worse, to the point my kids are scared to be near him even though they adore him. I'm at a loss of how to teach him that this biting isn't okay. Have we caused the biting behavior for some reason? I have noticed he will only let me take him out of his cage now
At first I thought maybe it was because he's been bonding with me that he didn't want to be near anyone else, but he bites me hard enough to draw blood too some advice would be very helpful at this point.

How old is Starburst? Has he reached that terrible hormonal stage or is he molting as I do know that biting can be a sign he's reached breeding condition and he's frustrated and acts out by nipping nastily.

I'm unsure about how to deal with a chompy bird, I hope someone on here has some good ideas to help you.

He's about 7 months. He had quite a few new feathers coming in. Most of them are free of the shell now though. I've noticed he Bob's his head when he's excited or mad (he'll bob his head while trying to bite you.) I have noticed that his nails are starting to hurt when he's on me, so I don't know if biting can come from his nails being to long and uncomfortable for him? He's always been one to nip, just normally not so hard . I'm planning on making an appointment to check his nails soon. He was really lovey today with just a little nipping, but I kept him with me, and away from the kids (as well as rubbing his neck and head). He only nipped once gently on my neck which isn't anything new.

He sounds like he's ending a molt and he's old enough to start the terrible bird mating time so he might be coming into breeding condition and a little frustrated. The head bobbing is a mating sign so if he's doing this before biting he sounds like he's in the "MOOD!"
