Nippy GCC?

So when I hear general speak about GCC's being 'nippy', is this light nipping or real biting?

Hector's molting so he's cranky, but his favorite thing to do is go from gently nuzzling my neck to pinching the tiniest little bit of skin and pulling it off.

Is that nipping? and in any case how do i correctly discourage it?

Mine is quite mouthy , but rarely nips hard enough to hurt... just pinches , but I always correct him when it gets to hard... I make a etetet sound at him and tell him NO... he understands what it means... he is for the most part pretty good at being gentle. If he insists on biting hard enough to hurt or getting sassy I set him on the floor by grabbing over the wings ( he does not mind this ) and plopping him gently on the floor then ignoring him for a couple of mins... he is hen

When I first got Dexter he would squeeze my fingers really hard. So I dont really know. Ive always wondered the same thing. He never ever lunges, but he gives me a squeeze

Yeah, squeezing really hard is what he does, though he's bitten a few times when he did not want scritches and I tried.

But this other thing, he literally gets the tiniest, pin head sized bit of skin off my hand or neck. and pulls it off. Its so tiny I don't bleed, but obviously leaves a little pin prick of a red mark the next couple of days, and stings (especially on the neck).

I'm guessing he's just bored...still trying to hand him popsicle sticks and foraging treats to occupy him, but he's often not in the mood.

He did take the cutest bath in the sink the other day when I was getting fresh water for him, but since then he hasn't wanted another dip. He sure seemed more comfortable afterwards too, and it doesn't look like he's dunking in the water dish.
