GCC Questions and more lol

Hi all! I hope this finds everyone well. I am really enjoying my GCC but I have more questions. I would like to allow her to be able to stay out of the cage more and just hang out with the family. I have purchased a play gym for her but she just does not seem to like it. When I have her out she would rather be climbing on me, not that I blame her, but it makes it kind of hard to get some things done around the house because I worry about her safety. I guess what I am looking for is how do I build up her confidence enough to get her to play on her own? Also I did purchase her from a breeder but I do not believe that the breeder gave my baby baths because she seems to be afraid of water. I have left a shallow bowl of water in her cage but she avoids it like the plague. So how do you get your babies to like their baths? I thought about just letting her shower when I do but I am not sure if that would help her get more comfy with the water or not.

When I purchased my GCC my hubby fell in love with a Cockatiel and brought her home at the same time. The Cockatiel will step up and such but she is not as tame as my GCC. The question I have about the Tiel is that she will sit in her food dish and throw seed at us. Why is she doing this? Also is there a way to get the GCC and the Tiel to be friends? They do not like each other at all and when we get them both out we have to keep them away from each other.

I know I need to post some photos but I can't get the little gals to be still long enough for me to take a good picture lol. I have not gave up yet tho and hope to post some soon. On the bright side my GCC now can say Pretty Girl and Kisses! When she is out on my shoulder and I say kisses she will say it as well and actually nibble on my lip. My heart melts every single time she does this.

Anyway thanks for reading my wall of text and I am looking forward to any answers I get! <3

One thing I recommend is putting perches and ladders and stuff on top of the cage. That way she will learn to stay on it but be in the comfort of having her cage around. I did it with a few of my birds and it worked wonders! Hopefully she will get the idea to stay put, but always make sure somebody can keep an eye on her. GCC can get up to so much mischief if given the chance

That's mad that you're greeny doesn't like water! Mine might as well be ducks, or fish. Every time I take the water out and put it back in mine go crazy. You could get a good mister (doesn't have to be a bird branded one, you can get cheap ones for misting plants that do the trick, just give them a real good wash before they're used) and give her a daily mist for a few minutes. That way it will encourage her to preen more and maybe she will start to accept the water. You could also try holding her on your hand in the shower

Some people have said their green cheeks get along with other birds but in my opinion they only seem to get along with other conures in the pyhurra family. Cockatiels are much more laid back and mellow while conures are pretty hyper. I would supervise them and maybe introduce them but be warned, green cheeks can strike pretty fast. When you introduce them keep an eye on your GCCs body langue. They sway and poof up all the feathers on their head real huge and they normally go ahead and chase the other bird. They bite too, or pull out feathers!

I don't know why she would do that in her food bowl but she could simply just be scratching around for the best seeds my birds often do that, parrot or non-parrot!

Gcc's are quite bossy and bully like so if they are going to be friends with other birds it needs to be a bird that can stand up for it's self that's why in my opinion my gcc and indian ringneck get on and my teil is such an outsider
