Niko is being a hormonal jerk

Well, Niko My CAG has fallen in love with a new toy to the point of regurging for it. He is also moulting so he seems extra angry. I took the toy away this morning. Hopefully it helps. Last time he did this he got depressed when I took it away. He has also become very cage aggressive. I am trying hormone reduction techniques. Any other suggestions?

Ah that sucks. I hate having hormonal birds. Yeah try less daylight aways, don't give him too many toys that he can shred. Give him puzzles and acrylic etc.

Also I've read recently, more in terms of hormonal Amazons, but don't let them on top of their cage or anywhere where they are higher than you because they'll think they're the dominant one.
Other than what the others have already said I can't think of anything else. Ride it out, he'll get over it.

We have him on long night treatments. No shredders. His cage is at about my height so he isn't above me. We are riding it out hopefully I have all my fingers when he is done.

do you cover his cage at night?

if you do, cover it earlier so he gets less light and put him to bed earlier than normal

I found with Bob he came out the other side, I left the toy in.
He regurged on it, but he was fine away from his cage.
Now he's just his normally grumpy self.

Oh that glare sucks!
Or it can be funny.
Hormonal birds is annoying.
Bob has the same kind of toy in his carrier so he gets in it and I take him to a room away from his cage, then cover the carrier.
Does he have complete quiet when he's put to bed.
Bobs in the living room so I cover him at 9pm but he still has the tv and light on til I go to bed.

It is fairly quiet back there, he stays in the bedroom. I go back and cover him normally at 9:30 and try to tip toe around if I have to go back there. He was alittle better with me tonight since gf is gone. We will get through it, but it is nice to have you guys to talk it out with. Thanks everyone

Karma has once again hit and now Bob is being a hormonal jerk!
I think its cos we are having so much rain. He's routine is the same.

The skies have been dark and unsummery again today.
Typical!
