One Egg!

I had mentioned earlier this week that my lovebird had been mating with my budgie.
To my surprise I have found one egg at the bottom of the cage. It's definitively 100% unfertile since these 2 birds cannot produce any offsprings. She is, however, guarding it like a hawk
Now I do not know what to do. Even cleaning the cage is problematic. I have been researching on the subject and it seems that the best thing to do is let her be and eventually she will figure out that no baby is coming and she will leave the egg alone. Right?
She will come out of the cage just to poop and, oh boy, it certainly looks big and watery. The male budgie goes in to feed her when he's not busy courting the other female budgie. My lovebird has been chewing on her cuttlefish bone more than usual. Should I provide her with paper to shred? What should I do about cleaning the cage! She does not allow me to reach inside. I can only clean the bottom tray (which slides out) and the outside water bottles. Even then she tries to attack me from inside the cage...
