no name baby is a typical sun conure. she is LOUD
the thing is, she is much much louder out her cage
when i put her in her cage she quietens down

It might just be a unique behaviour to her. I haven't heard of it, it's usually the other way around louder in the cage, silent out haha

my goat was named Xia (although pronounced Shy-ah) and was wonderful until she died. totally unrelated, but yeah.

Solo: Suns are known to be very loud when they are not getting their way. I am sure you found that out way before you got this one.
But in your case things should settle down as I know you will give her lots of time and love, this will help. They do like a lot of interaction from what I have seen, then they are fine.
Congrats on getting this Sun Conure.

A tribute to my lost ones. RIP.

Maybe settling in teething issues?

Also seeking attention, particularly as she's a baby.

Getting excited about new things, people, someone returning into a room, new sounds etc could set her off

she gets quieter when she is on me but that is hardly the solution to the problem

Yeah I I have a yelling issue with my parrotlet.. But he hardly compares to a sunny! Mine is set off by jealousy... If I crinkle paper or plastic... If the budgies squabble... Yours sounds like attention seeking and as far as I know the best is to ignore her when loud and reward when she is quiet even for a few minutes and hope it clicks with her... Good luck.

Hi SOLO, im a new sunny owner as well and my boy peaches is loud from the time he wake sup to the time he goes to bed.. he is very vocal and loves to scream and shut.. i have found that if he is doing this and i say all funny to him like ̣h really, you don't say ̣r `telling me lies again huh`or `really is that how it happened.`he finds it funny and will settle down.. often i think he is just telling me his little bird story's.. best of luck to you and your baby..
