Unhappy Really noisy baby

I recently bought a Congo African Grey who's 4 months old. I've had him for about 3 weeks now but during the last week or so he's been making these constant squeaks which are loud and piercing. He does this when he's in his cage, when he's walking around the house, climbing his jungle gym, eating his fruit and veggies, while we're playing with him and while we're talking to him. When he can't see or hear me then the noise stops after a while but then as soon as he hears my voice, he starts the squeaking again. He also doesn't play with any of his toys. I just need to know whether this is normal?

Really noisy baby

I wouldn't worry and just give him some time...
Don't react to the sounds... If he does it, try to ignore it he will eventually see it has no affect on you.

What type of toys do you have?
Most bird have a specific preference you just have to find it!!
Introduce toys slowly... My green cheek didn't play with toys either, but I made a fool of myself and actually pretend played with the toys myself and that got her interested!!

Show her that the toy isn't a threat and a fun time!!

Icicis- Green cheek conure
Shaylee- Bichon Frise

hi i have a CAG to i got him when he was around 9 - 10 mths old but i can help a little he is calling his hatch mates or previous owners and when he hears you but does not see you he is calling for you. everything is new to him and he is scared and unsure of things. the grey i have was sold to a man and because he would not stop the calling what you are talking about he brought him back to the breeder which was lucky for me . he will stop just be patient and as for toys it may take a little time but if you show him it is ok to play with them he will. Dusty my boy loves the ones he can tear apart. i know the screaming can be very irritating loud and just plain horrible especially when you are playing with him or when you are trying to do something just keep in mind he is a baby and around different people and things and like any baby that can't talk yet they cry when scared and unsure of what is going on

I agree with Lisa. Maybe you could also try talking to him when he is making his calls. You would be responding but in a different way. Greys are great talkers. Since he is young, take advantage of this & teach him
words and phrases. Just dont overwhelm him with too many at a time.
Let the little bambino adjust to his new home. Congrats on your your new
baby boy. have patience...before you no it, he will be your best friend.

Your baby could be making well, baby noises! If it is a near enough constant he could be just calling out for momma I know a few hand raised birds even after they have weaned will make baby sounds
