Clyde stepped up

I completely forgot to post this everywhere except Facebook! Clyde, my orange winged Amazon parrot, for some reason decided that maybe I'm not too bad after all

I had just let him out of his cage and I was putting down their plates (the Alexandrine's and him) on top of the cages. The room is very safe so the big guys get to come out all day long and usually Kona flies straight to me to get the first bite. He did and managed to quickly steal a piece of apple and fly off again. Clyde was sat on the cage behind me and I didn't think anything of it. He usually backs off or flies away if he doesn't want to come anywhere near me. Next thing I know I feel this poking on my shoulder, a hesitant poking. I thought maybe Kona had flown to the cage behind me too and was trying to get on me, he's obsessed! But nope, I glanced out of the corner of my eye and who was it? Clyde. He lifted himself up and sat there looking nervous but proud so I offered him some snacks and he was then very happy. I was even able to walk and carry on doing my thing while he was there!

Now the only big bird I allow on my shoulder is Kona. I don't let Malibu there nor the majority of the lories (I do however allow Darwin to do it, he does nip me but he's mostly ramming his gross tongue up my nostrils) so as you can imagine I was having a bit of a heart attack. Clyde has only ever bit me while I have been trying to restrain him. He had a good go at me before he was put under GA to have his microchip done but he has never ever gone of out his way to actually come over and bite me. But either way I was still very uncomfortable with him there. He loves my phone so I thought I would take the opportunity to get a quick, but rubbish, photo of us. He gave me a darn good preening while he was up there though

I managed to get him down by leaning towards a cage, he quickly stepped off
