Dream bird room!

Well, there have been some gorgeous aviaries and bird rooms posted lately that have me drooling and dreaming. If you could have any bird room aviary imaginable... How would it look?

I would have a huge room with huge flight cages all built in ... A large stainless steel counter and large sink, with lots of cupboards for storage of all things bird related, and a closet for my cleaning supplies and vacuum cleaner. ( Better yet a built in central vac!)A large built in ( no place or a bird to hide behind ) fridge. The whole room would be bird proofed with lots of hanging toys, perches and swings for ultimate play value. Foraging stations placed thruout the room and a running water bird bath ( with fresh water running thru all the time ) it would also have a door opening into a walk in outdoor aviary for fresh air and sunshine on the good weather days. The built in cages would all have protective coverings on them to protect birds from each other when some are out of the cages. This room would also have a air filtration/ventilation system...

So come on... Lets hear your dream room/aviary ideas!

My wish would be to have a large garden with no complain neighbors. I would put up a huge net all around the garden and let all my fids hang about outside, it's healthy all round

I bet your birds would love that Tippa... I once saw a YouTube vid of a sun conure that came and went as he pleased... They would let him out of the window and he hung out in the yard and then when he wanted back in he tapped at the window... To me that is soooo dangerous for the bird!

I would still want my fids to live indoors with me. I think I'd miss them if they were permanently based in an aviary. A hung-up net in the garden for them to spend about half outside each day would do good for their health, soaking up the vitamin D.

I have seen some people on FaceBook hung up nets all around their gardens for their fids, their fids looked happy and healthy.

But this bird was just free to come and go... No net, no cage nothing... He just went out in the yard by himself!

I would have an outdoor building that had all of my storage etc. indoors. There would be enclosures inside leading out to outdoor enclosures which would be as large as I could possibly make them. Basically a big row of aviaries

I would like to have a large, first floor room with a bathroom/laundry room attached, and a door from that room leading to a huge outdoor aviary. The room would have laminate flooring to make cleaning up poo easy (at least easier than carpet!) In the center of the room would be large tree stands and hanging stands, and against all the walls would be the cages.

I would also grow load of fruit trees in my imaginary garden, the fids then can then play on real trees and they can eat the fruits too .

I don't want much in life, all I want at this stage in my life is a garden about the size of 2 tennis courts, netted all round with load of fruit trees growing. The fids can poop as much as they like in the garden, I don't mind

Si, at Loro Parque they have a very large outdoor construction very similar to that. It is set to be Australian themed. It's called Katandra tree tops. They have many, many free flying parrot species in there as well as some others. Loads of natural plants too

The poop will be good for the trees...lol make sure you plant lots of millet grass and other good things for the birds to eat and forage for in your garden!

I would love to have a room with a row of flights along one wall. In each flight there would be a Window/door that opened up to large outdoor flights. In the room would be all kinds of play gyms and plants and stuff for the birds to hang out on during out of cage time. There would also be a fridge for the birds and a cleaning area.

big room - lots of trees and bird friendly bushes in it.
then cages lining the walls - big cages - with different species in it. and then different birds could have free range playtime at different times

There's a bird exhibit at my local zoo, it's not extraordinarily huge, it's shaped like a big sphere and there's a ramp that goes to the top and back down, so you can visit the birds in the tree tops.....that's what I want . It's all trees and plants and a little lake, and of course birds mostly north american (some macaws too).
