seagrass mat a huge hit!

so i ordered a 14" x 14" seagrass mat from www.mysafebirdstore.com because it was on sale for $3..... leon likes climbing on it to play with his toy

it would also be cool if i folded it in half, stuffed with with foraging material, and "sewed" it up! (next one i order )

not only is it flexible and easy to hang.... it smells good!

i also took the "mini tree" and finally hung it from the ceiling over one of the big trees. Mr butch is growing up before my eyes and he used to be scared to fly... now he is flying up onto the mini tree AND the window play gym (which he never used to do). i am so proud of him and leon is just a wild thing and hops around to all the play areas- the trees, the mini tree, the seagrass mat, the window play gym...

the boys singing on the mini tree

and a more current pic of the trees... etc. you can kind of see the window gym i also put up 2 dowels as "toy hanging extenders" on the smaller of the 2 big trees so i can actually hang some toys. they are working out pretty good.

can you spot the boys playing??

Shelly, your folks have such a beautiful budgie life, awesome!
My guys also love their grass mat. They are working hard on it, it was twice as big in the beginning.

Wow that sure looks like fun! I am going to have to get a sea grass mat for my linnies for sure. You've done such a great job providing a stimulating and healthy play gym for your budgies. Way to go!

I have seen cute sea grass mats with buttons and things at petsmart in the small animal section. Thought about getting one. I guess I should!

I love your set up. And Leon with his name beads, adorable!

Those seagrass mats are different from the one I have. Mine is bigger (and maybe cheaper-$4). it is really easy to hang and/or tie things to my mat. The one I have is also more durable in my opinion I recommend it more than the small woven one

Love your bird tree and wonderful ideas. I just bought a big tree stand from Amazon. I think I need to add small branches for easier use by the linnies. Thank you for sharing!!

Yeah it was somewhere around there in price...probably isn't as durable but shipping can be so pricey!

They are budgies, I don't see how they wouldn't be durable and you got them for $3 a piece. I don't think you can do any better.

mysafebirdstore has pretty cheap shipping compared to other places. they occasionally have flat rate shipping deals (i get daily emails from them) if i could, i would take advantage of the deals more often they have a lot of other things there too.... its easy to get carried away!
