Smile christmas toys for the fids

i have been so busy lately with homework that i haven't had the time to make any more toys. today was only about 17* F out, so i thought that it would be a good day to make some toys

these are easy stocking stuffers for the fids!

smiley mug with crinkle paper.
the paper is secured under a 2cm vine ball so it takes a little bit of work to get it out

this is the only toy that takes a while to make. the vine twist base is about 7"-7.5" long.

i made this one for bobby because he likes chewing on the finger traps. this would be a nice foot toy for large birds

this toy is super simple and i am predicting it will be super fun. only takes 1x1" balsa squares and 2x2" paper squares, the palm shredder is optional (well, everything is optional and can be substituted)

in the making….

finished! i made 2 of these because i know the girls will shred them up

this one i just folded in the bottom, cut some slits and poked 2 holes in the top. filled with 2 halves of a finger trap and crinkle paper.

this is just some balsa shoved in a ball. Pickles loves balsa things :P

this one look much better in person…. it is just a food coloring dyed egg carton xmas tree for pickles i alway make carton toys for her that i can just throw together for her to keep busy with.

if i didn't have a migraine, i would be making more….

i wish people lived closer so i could make everyone toys for cheap! all i can do is give advice for anyone stuck on a toy. i have a idea for a giant toy, but i would be a waste of my time to make a 1-2 foot long toy for parakeets! i can think about it more and draw and post it though if wanted

You'd be surprised what my budgies can go through. I buy macaw sized toys for the aviary and they can't half shred them! Being as you have a flock now, I don't think they'd have any trouble toys with the wicker balls on them seem to last five minutes in my aviary

You should make some instructional threads on how to create some of these toys! You know, include a supply list, what you'll need, how much time it will take, and list the specific instructions in steps. That would be awesome!
