I was wondering if it is safe for my lovebird to tear apart legos as long as they are too big for her to swallow?

I would think so, but not sure... I personally would not hesitate to let them play with them.

As long as she's not chewing them up or ingesting anything then I think they'd be fine

Lego are kid safe, (no toxic chemicals, etc) and should be safe for parrots. They have very high standards (which make them relatively expensive) but you don't have to worry about lead in them.---Just make sure your kids won't be upset (and make sure they are Lego and not some knockoff brand, which might still be safe, but who know)

I don't have children(lol I'm not that old), but I do have siblings and I will just use some of my own or just go buy some cheap legos. Since we have tons of legos though (a whole room full) I don't think that will be a problem. Thanks on the wonderful info!!
