travel carrier

I was wondering what everyone uses for taking their birds to the vet. I use the cage Tala came with but I haved moved futher north and I worry about insulating the cage. Against the -12 weather. This is the first vet visit since I got her. She needs her nails trimmed.

My lovie has this a travel cage...

It's small and sturdy. I just put a blanket or towel or sheet over it when it's cold, but we don't leave the house much.

These are my carriers. The pink and green are made by super pet. I love them but they are discontinued now. The blue one is the one I bought for Mina from petco.

The small cage on the link below I use when we are going to someone's house or if its going to be longer than just there and back. But for wings or nails, vets, etc., we use the carriers.

I was looking at the travel carriers around here to buy one the problem is that they are all for cats and dogs the closest l could come was a small cat carrier. l was just wondering if I should order one in I am looking at the one http://www.walmart.ca/en/ip/living-w...FVGVfgodyjEAGg but think it could be too small. Maybe I should just buy the cat carrier

I use a small animal carrier almost identical to this for vet visits etc, and find it works well with its large door.

The blue one from Petco is like the one I have for the 'lets. They also have a soft case you can slide it into. I found it in the small pets section.

That's exactly what I use to carry my linnies.
I put a towel on the ground and you can even fix a small food bowl in the air vents.
These boxes are available in different sizes, perhaps you find one that fits.

When it is cold I put the box into a lightly padded bag which I especially bought for that case.
I have no car, I must carry them on my scooter.

Someone rated 1 out of 5 stars... but when you read the review he bought it for a small puppy and it was too small so he rated it low... umm it clearly states for chins, piggies, and ferrets... of course its too small for a puppy!

I see a lot that are like this one now. It is nice I just prefer the wires so that they can climb and so I can see them more easily. My plet likes to hand up side down on his. Also, the ones I have have a small door that opens at the top, the whole top doesn't open. I liked that because if it is just big enough for my hand/arm, then less chance they'll get out.

I can't find the link to the blue one from petco (purchased for $10-$15) but I bought it recently in the small animal section and they also have a cover for it. That looks like this:http://www.petco.com/product/11339/S...plies_Carriers .

I have a friend that uses this, I can't remember in which size. She puts a newspaper on the bottom with a ladder flat for them to perch on.
