Omg he is so lucky, those look like awesome toys. I am having the same problem right now. I have so many darn toys and bird things, I am running out of places to store stuff. Not to mention two new ones are on the way to be delivered today, lol.

I just rotate them. I have a "toy drawer." I can't resist buying new toys for the fids.

I thought that's what birds are for to spoil them happy! I know the feeling about needing more bird toys. I feel like a toyaholic!

How funny. I thought she'd like it bcz she loves to chew things. She isn't afraid of new things at all as you can see. She was leaning in as I was unwrapping it. I have created a monster.

Petrie hasn't proven to be super playful quite yet and hasn't checked out any of the toys he already has, let alone these. Sigh...

It will take time Abby! Birds being prey do not like to trust anything unfortunately. Hopefully over time he will take to them. I've never known a lovebird not enjoy toys I absolutely love the swing and felt platform for him

Yeah right he is just too overwhelmed. Don't worry he will like them soon. Mina is my only bird that I have had known that just loved all toys from the start. She isn't scared of new things, only cautious with people. Opposite of my budgie and plet. Anyway, I have heard about this place and have been meaning to order a few things. Glad you are happy with your order!

Hi Abby,

That's a great looking stash of toys you got for Petrie.

Is he afraid of his new toys, or just a bit standoffish? If he's afraid of them have you tried putting them somewhere outside his cage, not too close to start with, but where he can easily see them? That way he should get used to seeing them where they're no threat to him, and each day just move them a little closer to his cage until you put them inside with him...works for me sometimes.

Cheers,

John.

He was actually playing with some of them today! I'm sitting here watching him and he seems very content. He is playing with one of the toys I made (the one with a toilet paper roll with colored popsicle sticks sticking out all over it). He's on top of it chewing on the sticks. And then he played with his little shoe. It dropped onto the ground, and I said "Uh oh!" and he looked at me and cocked his head. It was cute!

That is good news Abby. I really enjoy watching my birds playing with their toys, especially the ones that I've lovingly made for them. Sometimes it's the most simplest of toys that fascinates, like a toilet roll centre, or an empty tissue box.

Now that I think of it, that also applies to human babies too, my daughter often gained the most pleasure from the box the toy came in than the toy itself.

Cheers,

John.

Now this may sound weird but sometimes it took moving the toys to another part of the cage for them to take interest in the toys.
