FREE giant custom play gym tree for small birds (Portland, Oregon)

It is with a heavy heart that I must rehome this amazing 4' wide tree.

It was custom-made for me by a friend, and my tiels adore it. However, I am upgrading my cockatoo's cage to a double macaw cage and the tree has to go to free up the needed space. Unfortunately, I have nowhere to store it in my small apartment. It just isn't fair that Sakura is in a minimum-sized cage, when my tiels have a double flight that they are free to come and go from as they please. I thought about downgrading the tiels' cage and keeping the tree, but they really do love the cage. I'll just add another cage-top tree gym and a few more outside perches to it.

If anybody in reasonable driving distance of Portland, Oregon would like this tree, let me know. Otherwise, I'll sell it on Craigslist...but I figured I'd give you guys first dibs. It's free for a TP member.

It isn't in perfect condition anymore -- they have chewed a lot of the bark off, and a few branches have snapped, but it's still totally functional and looks fine. (Sorry, rope "boing" and toys not included.)

It's a shame you're having to give it up, but it will be lovely for Sakura to have such a large space to live

How nice of you to give it away for free to a TP member! I hope someone near Portland snags it up. I know I would. My husband and I are going to attempt to make something this weekend so we are definitely on the look out, lol.

I wish I lived close to you!

Thanks guys! I know a couple of people in Portland with small birds, but when I offered them the tree they declined because they didn't have space for it. So I made arrangements to donate it to a rescue.

I feel guilty taking it away from the tiels, but I think Sakura is the one who is more in need of a space upgrade...

So you still have the playstand? I have friend who lives in Washington near the border who might be interested. Not sure though, but I could ask.

Aw, sorry but it's been donated to a rescue! Totally would have offered it to your friend if I still had it.

I wish I had lived closer! Petrie would have loved it. But that's wonderful you donated it to a rescue.

That's cool....The rescue certainly will appreciate it and needs it more anyway. I fully support all rescue efforts, very generous.
