Maximum Bar Spacing For A Lovie

I'm looking at a new cage for my little Lovie, Uno, and wish to go to a much larger cage than she has now.

The cage that I'm considering has a bar spacing of 5/8", or 15mm for you metric thinking people. I'm now wondering if this bar spacing is too wide, and whether Uno, who's a known escapologist, might escape. She came to live with me after escaping from her original slave.

What do you think would be the maximum bar spacing for a Lovie?

Cheers,

John.

I think for a Lovebird I wouldn't go bigger than 1/2". But I'll let others chime in.

5/8" is maximum bar spacing I would use for my masked lovebird.

I believe I read somewhere that it should be 1/2 inch to 5/8 inch max.

Have you looked into getting a flight cage? They're very roomy and allow plenty of space with small bar spacing

Hi Daisy,

I already have her in a flight cage. The new cage that I'm considering is much larger.

Cheers,

John.
