New tree!!

don't worry, this one isn't for me

this one is for a parrot rescue!!

i am slowly making things to donate… mostly just perches and toys and this tree.

the perches i am making range from 1"-1 3/4" in diameter and will each be a foot long. the tree is 65" at the tallest and 45" at the widest. hopefully their larger parrots will be able to play on it (hopefully its big enough!).

today i pressure washed the tree and the branches and they are in the sun now. these pics were taken before they were washed

its no java wood tree, but it is still fun for any parrot waiting for a home

where the added branches will be

and then i have this branch which i have no clue what to do with it. its not good enough to stand alone… i will have to think about adding to it. (anyone want a tree??)

it has an odd curved branch…

and these are the perch branches. i will make 9 perches out of the straight ones and the odd one will be a perch by itself. i just need to cut them to size and get some hardware!

later on i will be making another thread with everything i will be donating- including toys!! i hope a lot of their large parrots like cardboard and wood toys (and some other fin toy parts!)

Lazicki's bird house and rescue in RI. They are on Facebook and YouTube. Their YouTube videos are from last year but they said that they had about 150 parrots. In the walkthrough video, most of the parrots only had one toy and a perch or two. I am hoping that this trip will be the start of adopting from them hopefully...
