i am finally done making toys for the parrot rescue! there is 28 in total. it was either make a few extra large toys or make a bunch of medium sized ones, so i went with making a bunch of medium sized ones because they have a LOT of parrots there
i don't have sizes for all of them, but they are much bigger than the budgies! all the of the material except the cardboard and wood (pine) is from mysafebirdstore.com
i will be making a separate thread with everything combines and the perches i made
guaranteed that these toys will be destroyed in a few minutes but the large parrots
coconut rope and paper in a wood candle holder
i made 3 of these
these are 6" cube foraging boxes with some different materials in them. i am also giving them a pound of mixed nuts for all of the foraging toys
this is a 6" cube that has a large vine ball in it and pieces of paper crumpled and covering the holes
my personal favorites!! the PVC foragers. the smaller one was a better size for the building wheel "lid" which can be easily lifter to get to the treats. paper straws cover the strings.
this is by far the heavies toy. the shell pod on the top and bottom are so heavy (and great for putting treats in). there is also java wood toy parts being sold at mysafebirdstore!
a small dried pod and "scoopers" toy
and the tree all put together. all i have left to do it add 2 legs so it stands on its own
i bought 2 pine boards and i cut the whole thing in half and make a bunch of 2" and 3" pieces and some larger ones. i put the pieces with knots aside and then used a drill press to drill holes in all of the pieces. pretty professional looking, huh? i was so excited to make toys out of all of them!!
most of the wood ones are relatively small (good for medium birds). i didn't have enough hooks for all of them so they can all be put together to make a giant toy!
this is a big toy
another medium sized cardboard toy
**if anyone wants to know what some of the toy parts i ordered are like (size, shreddability, hardness) just ask!**
