new aviary build

Hi all. Big things are afoot in the garden. I have a 17 1/2' by 8 1/2' concrete plinth. Been planning a big aviary for some time when a 12'x6' flight came up on Gumtree for a steal. So I bought it. We hired a small truck and picked it up. It came with a roosting box but I wanted a shelter. So I sold the greenhouse which was in the way and my mate came round to try and turn the old shed. Well that wasn't gonna happen so we sawed the end off it. Attached a door. Wonderful hubby made an internal door and reroofed it and now in this ridiculous heat. I am wiring it. Here's the pics to show the stages. I am planning to house tiels, Bourke's, splendids, barrabands, linnies, bengalise finches , zebra finches, quail and diamond doves.

Looks great! You might not have the room to mix a bunch of different species though, even if you they are all mellow. Well, the only one that I think wouldn't fit in all too well would be the barrabands because they're so big but you could put those with your tiels Or am I confused? I keep looking at the photos and wonder how big they are I can't tell if that's 12ft or not! 12ft is big so that'd be fine haha. Sorry! I dunno how big your tiel aviary is!

Oh I'm just loving that!! Looks fantastic, can't wait to see birds in it! Sure wish our temps were a little (a lot) warmer in winter... I would LOVE to have an outdoor flight for my birds and an outdoor aviary for the budgies!

They panic. Both female. They're fine. I added the quail today. Snap, crackle and Pop! My daughter named them. I need to sort out some grit for them. And a hidey hole. They can go indoors. Got some straw things to put up. Dunno what my tiels will make of it all.
