but the lovie you get i think would love it. a toy doesnt have to be organized or fancy. it can be the most simple toy in the world and the lovie could love it to pieces lol to this day, munch's favourite is her fleece snuggle toy and her jingle ball foot toys. mango, he likes a lot of different toys, but his absolute favourite is his hamster wheel! he can run for hours in it

I will take some pictures of mine and post later. Mine are nothing fancy but the birds love them and that's all that matters. Thanks so much for the coffee filter and cupcake paper ideas! Never thought of that.

I fill a cardboard tube (like from toilet paper) with all my birds favourite treats like pomerganite, sunflower seeds etc and then wrap the ends up with lettuce and make little shapes in the side of the tube and it entertains them for ages. Each bird likes a different thing so I then know what each bird will have fun tearing it apart to get haha it works wonderfully you should try it. The toys you made look like tons of fun, like dallytsuka said, it doesn't have to be all well made and good looking etc, the most simplest of things can appeal to a bird who likes to play haha!

I love how these sites inspire me to make more toys. Here are a couple I made last night. I hang with shower curtain rings cause the birds love to be in the rings. I also included a picture of Boo and Comet in a slinky, which they love.

Birds 004.jpg

Two of the pics wouldn't upload - don't know why.

oooh daisey i loove that idea!

i love the second one sally!

do u guys know if paper mache is ok for birds? im thinking not because its made of glue right??

i made more.

that ring is grape vine. i bought it at my craft store im going to decorate it tonight!

one more question sorry xD lol

you know the k'nex toys right? I was thinking of instead of a lego gym i made a k'nex gym because i would be able to hang toys from it? is this ok? they are plastic but pretty durable i wouldnt think a love bird would break it.

everything is perfect! the playgym with the knex is awesome. paper mache is no because of the glue, but you can use flour and water instead

you can take paper and use the water/flour mix... blow up a balloon and do paper mache around that but pop the balloon when its dry. you can fill it with treats got this idea from someone on another forum. ive yet to do this one myself though lol

i finally made a bird orbiter!

i used 3 small hula hoops and wrapped them in cotton twine! then dyed them in bright colors using food coloring!

i just need a place to hang it now!

i was also wondering if dog rope was okay to use? like rope for dog toys?

It is safe as long as a dog hasn't chewed it and it's new. Their saliva is posoinous to our birds.
