Chia pet foraging toy

I made a chain pet foraging toy for the fids.

I used a wet sea sponge & chia seeds. I figured the sponge has lots of nooks for the seeds. It would take time to get them.
I tried 2 ways. One with a wet sponge & dry seeds. One with a wet sponge & wet seeds.

I think it would work with any sesal or ratan toy

I didn't know if sea sponge was safe for birds y'know. I'm assuming you've already looked into it? I know we can use loofah!

No I didn't know sea sponges aren't good for our birts. Are you sure about that? I got it from the pet store as a bird toy that's meant to be chewed on. They have several other toys made from sponges

In any case, here's more info on how I made it.
The next batch of chia seed snacks are done.

This time in addition to chia seeds & water I added flax & shelled hemp seeds, a bit of coconut, & a couple crushed nutriberries.

I cut up more sponge & ring of twisted cecil fiber.

Peete found where I was drying the treats. He got one before it was dry. I let him have it

Do you give the treat to them when the seeds are wet or dry...or both?
Thanks!
