Quaker sized PVC?

I'm looking to build a play gym for Nova. Right now he has a small wooden table top one. But it seems so.... BORING!

I've seen so many neat PVC play gyms, I'm inspired to build my own. There hardware store has everything I need except cross connectors, but I can manage without those, they have the 3 way ones, so I'm sure I'll be fine. I just have to do up my plans accordingly. Once the Christmas tree comes down at the end of December, the play gym is being built!

So my question is, what's a good size for a Quaker? The smallest size they have is 1/2", then they have 3/4" and 1", but 1" seems far too large. I would assume 1/2" but I'm asking for some expert opinion

Wooooohoooooo I ordered all my stuff. I'm gonna have to get creative because I can't get all the parts I need. Like, I can get T connectors, but not the 3 way ones that I woyld need to build a square. Oh well. I may have gone overboard too...i probably have enough stuff to built 3 big gyms... One for each floor of the house perhaps lol. I can't wait... I know what I'll be doing during Christmas vacation!

You could make multiple or you could just make a really big one Or you could do two big ones and a table top? The possibilities are endless!

I could make a huge one, but we don't really have the room. I will make something fun though. He loves climbing so I wil have no issues making him a giant maze of stuff to play on. I'm so excited... I should have everything by Friday.
