Do your birds love music?
I bought some toddler musical toys several years ago for my conure & grey. They are laying on the flat top cage play area. It took a long time but the conure eventually learned to push the buttons and plays the music himself. He even sings to the tunes. They became his favorites. The grey could care less about these toys.
I also turn on the "Toddler Tunes" station on cable TV and both birds love the music. They whistle, sing and dance. Around 5pm the station starts playing lullabies which are the conure's favorites. When the lullabies start he goes and sits in his empty 'nilla waffer box (on the cage top) and just listens. He often will sit in his box quietly (yes, a quiet conure) listening to the music for 2 hours. I now call the box his easy chair. If I forget to turn on the music he will squawk until I do.
All of this music provides a lot of enjoyment for my birds. They didn't always respond to music until I started playing the toddler tunes.
