Good bird cage set up??

So my dad thinks my cage is too crowded.. He thinks the bird is going to get clostra-phobic in there.

So how crowded is to crowded??
There is at least one toy near each perch and about 4 -5 perches
Some natural wood and one big rope perch going through the middle of the cage. I also have a bird tent in there.

So how crowded is too crowded for a conure or a lovebird??

Too many toys make new birds scared of there new surroundings??? taking them home to a crowded cage makes them insecure??

Love for your help! Thanks!!

Kennedy,
I don't know how big your cage is, but I do have a toy near each of the various perches in my birds' cages. I also have four or five perches in each cage and some rope perches, too. It all depends on the actual interior space of the cages.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

I doubt that five perches and a rope perch, along with toys at each perch, would make a cage that size too crowded. Look back through the photographs of cages of other members on here. You will see some seriously full cges.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

My cage is 20"x26"x36" triple top Kings cage. There's a toy by each perch. A couple of natural perches, some rope ones, a boing, and a swing... I actually had more stuff in there for my parrotlet, but left it a little more open for my gcc. Oh, and there's a sleepy tent as well.

This is what it looked like when it was Loki's cage.

personally with the crowded vs not crowded, its up to the bird. some birds like it, some dont mind, some feel overwhelmed and dont like it.

if you've seen my set ups, theyre considered crowded but my birds like it, especially the lovies. it depends on what they like and dislike trial and error.

but i make sure my birds can move and run around and not bump into things. birds like tiels with long tails, you have to take that into consideration too.

Casey makes a good point. Roni, my senegal, likes to be able to play with more than one toy at a time. She loves nothing more than to be holding a toy in each foot while chewing happily on a third one. She is much more active in a smaller cage jam packed with all her favorite stuff than in a larger cage with more room, but she does need a space to really swing from her favorite swinging toys, too. Daisy, the maximilian pionus, likes space between her toys. The larger her cage is, the more she plays. Those two birds are at nearly opposite ends of the spectrum.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

I agree with the above posts too, it depends on the bird. But personally looking at your cage I would not say it was over crowded

It does depend on the bird, but if it's a lovebird or conure, I think it should be ok!

Yeah.. I set it up like a playground! And like others have said, you change it around a bit if needed. If I notice tails don't have enough room, I space it better. So far they LOVE all the toys! Lol!
