My Invention!

I really wanted a stand for Kiki, but I could not buy one as I am saving my money. So...I created one! A quite crappy one, I admit. I'm not super handy. But it works, heehee!

Its a stick from my willow tree outside, two pieces of a hanger, two blocks of wood, and a black tray on the bottom. I used a bit of hot glue to stick the pieces of wood to the bottom of the tray, and to stick the pieces of a clothes hanger into the branch and the wood. (Getting holes into the branch and the wood blocks took FOREVER) It's a bit wobbly, but it wouldn't break and Kiki loves it. If I wanted to, I'm sure I could add to it or do more with it. I'm pretty proud of myself. It took like three hours though.

Good for you! Our fids don't care what things look like. As long as he likes it, that's all that matters. And that's more than I've ever been able to make.

That's a great point. They don't care what things look like.

Looks good to me... The prices they want for those things at the store and online is NUTS!!!...lol I have a smallish basket I made a playstand out of. Nuttin fancy , but one bird can sit and play on it while I have another on my shoulder... allows me to double up their Momma time...lol

I think yours looks great... just add a few toys and beads to it... a bit of hemp tied on and the ends left loose to chew on... a little decoration here and there....lol ...and my design was not the best... I sewed corn husks into the inside to keep him from chewing the wicker up too fast... but had to remove it as it got poopy to fast and was harder to remove the poop off of the corn husk than the wicker...lol. They do work well and are portable I wrapped the handle with hemp twine cuz my plet woulda ate the handle in no time flat...lol. The hardest part was finding a plain wicker basket that didn't cost a fortune... and I would not buy one from a second hand store cuz I didn't know what had been in them before... my birds seem to like it and I just place a paper napkin in the bottom to catch the poop... I would love to have a large floor stand sometime too , but space does not allow that right now.

Very nice, both of you. I have a basket as well and the nice thing about it is you can just about do anything with it. It took Cricket a while to decide he liked it but now he is all over that thing.

Great idea Abby I don't think the bird really cares how it looks as long as they like it! I mean, sometimes I think my birds look at me and think URGH!
