Conure Castle??

I am on vacation, but still check Craigslist every day for cages. Over the weekend this was listed. It looks pretty much the same as Joannes, and Shellys. I sent them an email saying if it was still available when I get home on Thurs, I would like to take a look at it.

I sure does look the same to me too. There is a smaller version that's just like it though, so before you go to see it, go to A&E's website and get the measurements of both cages, just so you'll know. Maybe it'll still be there and clean and in good condition and a good price! Hope it is!

I asked about the bar spacing and she said it was 5/8". The smaller one is also 5/8". I will have to email her about the dimensions, also to see if she has the seed guards. She said the condition of it was excellent, the color was the charcoal, and the price is $175. I think since it didn't see this weekend if her yard sale she might even go a bit cheaper.

If the cage is in good condition, no rust or anything, that's a great price.

I looked up the dimensions of the two cages -

Conure Castle (the one I have) is 32"x23"x64", 5/8" bar spacing and the shipping weight is 113 pounds.

Caique Classique (the smaller one) is 24"x22"x62", 5/8" bar spacing and the shipping weight is 84 pounds.

I noticed, when I was looking at the picture of the Caique Classique, that the bottom of the inside of the cupboard with the doors looks like it's a wire grill rather than solid metal bottom, like mine. That may not make a difference to you, but thought I'd mention it. I can't tell from the pictures you posted, but the one you're looking at may have a solid bottom cupboard???

Keep us posted!

Here is the email I just got back from her:

It is 67.5" H from the floor including the wheels x 32" W x 23" depth..It also has a manzanita perch-we replaced the dowel thing it came with...it has extra door locking hardware for escapee birds ..it has two stainless bowls and we replaced the original wheels with heavy duty, sturdier ones..

we have healthy birds and are just doing some upgrading -moved a sun conure and a quaker out of this cage and into a large macaw cage and the macaw will be getting a java wood stand- I just wanted to let you know in case you had any health concerns with my birds

it does not have the seed guard- i took them off and can't remember where I put them ( if i can find them they are yours !!)-but I am only asking $175 for this large cage that is in great condition .

Let me know if you have any more questions!!! What kind of bird/birds do you have?

I just blew up the pic and the inside bottom of the door area is solid grate.

Bob -

I think, from what she says, that this is the larger cage, the Conure Castle, so that's good.

My cage came with 3 heavy duty stainless steel bowls. Each one fits into a ring and has a little locking door (a knob type lock) so they can be filled from the outside. I see 3 doors (there are 2 on one side and 1 on the other) in the pictures you posted, so not sure why she said two ss bowls. The door at the top side of the cage is (I think) for a nest box??

The wheels that came with my cage are pretty heavy-duty and I didn't need to change them.

I didn't put the seed guards on Libby's cage either, but have them stored away. Our family room is small, and the cage takes up less space without the guards.

When are you coming home? Hopefully she'll still have the cage when you get home so you can get a look at it!

Joanne, I will be home this Thursday and back to work on Friday. If she still has it, I will go sit it Friday or Saturday after work. I think I am the only one who has shown interest, which is to my benefit. I do want the seed guards, as least to use the front and side ones, so hopefully she can find them. I think the cage is a great deal at that price.

Sorry bob didn't see this post until now. You will love the cage and the storage underneath it is awsome. I still overflow but thats to be expected when you spoil your birds. Take Jo Annes advice, those clear totes that go under the bed are great for the overflow. I would leave it outside in the sun and clean it really well with a bleach and hot water mixture and then rinse it well and wash it again, you just never know. Then let it set outside in the sun for a a day to dry. I love my cage and Cricket loves all the room. He does use every sqare inch and the top comes down making a great launching pad. Door is really big too so you can get inside and give it a good cleaning. I use my skirt and love it, i really think it helps the contain the mess. I think if you really wanted one you could contact a and e and they could send you out a replacement. Mine had a lot of damage from shipment but it is thin enough to bend back in place easily enough. Also I know that MYSAFEBIRDSTORE has replacement bowls and it is nice to have an extra set or two or in my case three. Good luck i hope you can get it.

It IS a great deal! It's only a few more days -- who ever thought someone would be anxious to get home from vacation! LOL! Hope she still has it!
