I have no idea about toilet paper itself. One of the avian vets in the area stuffs empty toilet paper rolls with seeds and closes them with vet wrap. I do let my birds play with paper. Some of them, especially the grass keets, love paper, especially receipts. I can just buy a toy for one of the other birds and give the grass keets the receipt and they are often happier than the bird with the new toy.

Thanks Shivani for the awesome siggy!

Well I certainly do use the tubes. I make feeding tubes which are fun and last like the whole day. I fill the inside with pellets, seeds, nuts, fruit and veg and then seal the ends with some lettuce so it's all folded in. The I poke holes in the sides so the stuff kinda sticks out. My birds love them

I have never heard one way or the other, what I can tell you is that they use bleach to make it while, and I just wouldn't feel comfortable with it. But, bare in mind I am pretty green and not only very rarely use bleach in the house at all, but also cloth diapered my son. I just don't think the chemicals are good for us. Studies have linked chemicals like bleach to asthma, so...

I think it would be fine as long as you keep an eye to make sure he's not eating the paper. Shredding it is fine, actually eating it. Not so much.
