Question Best cage placement

So me and my mom are arguing which place is best for ice,, soooooo im going to do a pro and con list:

My bedroom:

Pro
  • Ice is safer there
  • dont have to worry about open doors
  • im allowed to have a play center there for her
Con
  • ice is more isolated.. not as much interaction( will still come out of room with me to watch TV with my family)
Living room

Pro
  • Interaction from when we are home
  • more space to fly
  • Lovely window look out
Con(mothers long list )
  • isnt let out as often as my room as there are doors opening constantly
  • not allowed a play center on cage as it wrecks the"clean and orginized"look of the room
  • Doors are opening down stairs all the time
  • ice's wings arnt clipped( spooked very easily)
  • Constant Cleaning as the room needs to be spick and span
thats all i can think of right now..

Can u guys help me?? where do you think she should go for her better well being?

i complain to much here.. LOL im sorry!

Also, where are your birds kept?

THANKS AGAIN

My birds are kept all over the place. I have my Dexter and Pickles in my bedroom though there is a play gym downstairs. I have everything else in aviaries or mini aviaries inside the garage, aka the outdoor bird room I have 2 main aviaries, one for Chalkie, one for my new bird of prey but the kakarikis are currently using it. I have two indoor box aviaries for the kakarikis and cockatiels and I have 4 breeder cages for budgies, 2 for finches, 1 for canaries and 3 for whatever else I decide to buy. Joey is going into a square cage I have inside the garage with the rest of the birds and I have those huge ones at my uncles. Oh and my other kaks are also in an aviary. My macaw will be in the conservatory but for the time being that is where my adopted birds will go if I get them. It's really big and we have a heater and everything in there. It's nice! I think the safest place is by far your bedroom. She may need tons more toys and other things to keep her happy though. And obviously you'll be more confined to your room

Ahah I lost track after the third or fourth cage daisy, you have soo many birds lol

I think I'm going to move her to my room, I just brought home tons of new toy making supplies sooooo she will be occupied.. And she will also be taken out to watch tv with me almost every night.. Cause I'm an addict..

Any other opinions?? I appreciate all of them!!

Thanks!

I'd keep them in your room. Then, get a playset or something and put it in the living room. He'd be with you almost all the time!

Yes, sounds like your room is the best place, more safe there.

My GCC and my Parrotlet have their own room, with tons of toys, big cages, each other to chirp back and forth to, and me coming in and out all day. My Hahns is in a huge cage in our family room. He's in when I'm not in the room, and out when I am, like watching t.v. He comes back to the bird room with me a couple of times a day, and they all get time out of their cages -- on opposite sides of the room and with me supervising. All three also get one hour of "out" time before bed at 7 p.m. (that's where I am now).

I try to make sure my birds are happy in or out of their cages, and all know how to entertain themselves. I don't want them to be cage-bound or unhappy in their cages, so I try to strike a balance between the two. This way, when I have to be gone for the day, I don't worry that they're sitting in their cages, bored or unhappy.

Anyway, that's what I do. I'm sure you'll find the right situation for Ice!

Bob's in the living room, but when he was in the backroom so was I!
He's not allowed out in the living room as he can get where I cant and he might get hurt.
When he's tamer we might be ok.
He comes out in the backroom.

How about having her main cage in the living room and a smaller, sleep cage in your room? Then she gets the best of both Worlds.
