Separate CAges?

Hi,
How come their in sepatate cages? And how can they fly in those cages with so many toys? Just wondering. My lovebirds love to fly in their cages as well as out. Looks a bit crowded with toys, No.

Munch and Mango are out of their cages a lot. I find with birds, the smaller the more toys. It provides them with plenty of opportunities of enrichment. Many people have their lovebirds housed seperately. In fact most people just buy one. Lovies can be very nasty towards each other, and often do kill. I think Munch bullies Mango, and they are siblings who already try to mate out of their cages, so they have to be housed seperately. Please correct me if I'm wrong Casey, but I try to remember your posts

Great set ups! Does Mango use the hamster wheel in his cage?

you are right, my birds are brother and sister, DNA'd and mate. and munch also beats the poop out of mango and doesnt let him perch, eat, or play in the same cage. so its stay separate or have mango starve and be miserable. i like them separate if this is the case. i wont come home to a dead mango because munch didnt want to share.

and unless you have an aviary, no bird will ever truly fly in a cage. they hop around from perch to perch, but they do not fly. they are out of the cage for several hours a day to fly. and watching them fly around the room, theres no way any cage will allow proper true flight really. they cant turn, hover, dive... or reach the speeds they can out. so it does not matter. in a cage they can hop, they cant really fly. unless its an aviary, but an aviary i cannot have in my apartment lol let alone my bedroom!

and my guys love lots of toys. theyre busy busy busy always playing with everything. it depends on the bird on what they like or dislike. mine would go stir crazy without a lot of toys.

jenny, mango LOVES his wheel. its his favourite toy

I've been very blessed for my two lovies to be able to live together. From the moment they met it was love at first sight. I've always thought with Angeli not being able to walk that Jackson tried to protect her and that's why they get on so well.
