BIG Bird Toy for Charley

Here's a couple of pics of a toy I bought for Charley (like my birds NEED another toy! ). It's called a "Klanger Scoop"

I got it from Cavalier Bird Toys for 25% off during a sidewalk sale that Avian Avenue was having. Here's a link to the toy:
http://www.cavalierbirdtoys.com/klan...arrot-toy.html It's a lot bigger than I thought I would be! This is definitely a big bird toy!

They have other varieties of Klangers here:
http://www.cavalierbirdtoys.com/klangersbells.html

The heavy chain goes through a loop at the top and the bird can pull the toys on each end of the chain back and forth. You can see how big the pieces are in the pic with my hand in it.

I thought I could probably make this toy, but since it has a stainless steel ladle and the pieces are SO big, I guess I made out okay. I thought I'd post a couple of pics, in case anyone wants to try making something similar.

So far, Charley loves it! Here's the pics:

That is really cool! I love the idea. I also love how Charley already has his own personalised name toy

Thanks, hipeopleoftheworld!

Daisy - I ordered his name letters when he was "Harley" -- I get the names from Beakapoo.com. When I changed it to "Charley" I couldn't find a "C" anywhere, so ended up ordering just one letter from Beakapoo -- but now he's got his complete name!

Shivani -

Here's a link to the page on Beakapoo.com -- It's in the small bird toy section, for some reason, and hard to find! It's called a "name chain".

Thanks, Abby. It's really heavy-duty and made to last. He's been picking up the stuff on the chain and dropping it against the ladle -- loves the noise it makes I guess! The first day, I put a couple of treats in the "bowl" of the ladle to get him into it, but he's usually not afraid of new toys, so he went right for it!

I know what you mean by using it to make noise. I had certain birds before that seemed to think that was their purpose in life; shoving their toys around obnoxiously to make noise.
