New toys for Maxx

I got Maxx a few new things.

I have been wanting an Orbiter and Maxx seems to love it.

The Foraging Wheel is another one I have also been wanting. Maxx figured it out in 30 minutes or so, and love to get back to it to get some Hemp Seed

I got this tube at work, a bottle of Tequila came with it, and we had a couple empty tubes sitting around. I cut the ends off, and Maxx loves to climb through them, and tear them apart.

Cool toys! I'm glad you got Maxx the orbiter! All my birds have them and absolutely love them! The orbiters never rotate out of the cages!

Maxx is very lucky. I have been meaning to try out that foraging wheel, probably with Kiki. I see it works well with everyone else!

I've got a picture somewhere on my computer of Libby playing with that foraging wheel, but darn it! I can't find it! I'll keep looking!

Bob, that looks like the perfect size. Where did you get it? Was there a particular name for it? I wanna make sure i get the right one. Thank you!

I really wanted one for my two conures, I always thought they'd be too big but they do look just the right size still!

How are they used? Like what do the birds have to do to get to the treats/food etc?

If you look at the bigger picture #2 of the 4 on the first post you can see it a little better. There is a plastic knob that he has to rotate, which moves the holes to the 5 treat areas. He used to poke at the treats from the outside until he found the knob and figured out what that does. I have hemp seed, fruit pellets, and pieces of Nutriberry as treats.

The wheel itself is stationary, it is just the front cover that rotates as he turns the knob.

Joanne, I think I read in one of your posts that you attached things to your orbiter? Do you have any pics of it?
Thanks.

Here you go, Bob -

This is Libby's orbit - I added the plastic chain and little circular beads, and the bells. I attached the plastic chain with tiny little zip ties. Libby loves this orbit! She usually sleeps on top of it at night!

This is Angelina's orbit. The ones I could find at my bird shop were too big for her, so I found this one on line. It came just the way you see it, and it's the perfect size for her. It cost more than the plain ones though. She also sleeps on or "in" her orbit at night.
By the way, in this picture, she's not actually sitting on the orbit -- she's perched behind it!

Here's Charley's orbit. It's a bit larger and thicker than Libby's. I added the plastic chain, bells and doo-dads the same way I did with Libby's. Again, he LOVES his orbit, plays in and on it during the day and sleeps on or in it at night.

Their orbits never rotate out when I change their toys around! A friend of mine has a Caique and a Hahns Macaw. They both have orbits and both love them -- must be universally loved by birds! It's a swing, it's a climbing toy, it's GREAT!
