how often do you change your setup?

just wondering how often the birds of your house get their cages changed around?

ice seems to get bored with hers in a week or so

usually saturdays are changed the setup day

so wondering if changing the setup once a week is a little to much> or should i keep it for 2 weeks or so( its been about 2 weeks since i changed it and she is pretty bored :0

thanks

its up to your bird, once a month, once a week, it depends on what your bird likes.

put it this way, in the wild their habitat is always changing a little bit. they have larger territories than our houses, so they travel and every bit of their territory is different, so somethings always different, but familiar.

it seems she likes it every week or so..

if she shows signs of stress (watery poops, nervousness, biting, etc) then do it farther apart. i do mine twice a month usually or if i get something new for them

I change my birds' cages about every two weeks, rotating toys out for "new" toys out of their toy boxes (they think they're new!). Some toys never rotate out, because they are favorites and played with every day. I usually don't move the perches around though -- figure they'll feel more secure that way.

They get so excited on toy rotation day -- sometimes just moving a toy not played with to another part of the cage turns it into a favorite!!

Anything for our babies, right?

Once a week I also exchange the toys for them, Mango (the sun conure) seems to care more than the others.

I know what you mean! Some care, some don't. Charley, my Hahns Macaw, LOVES to play with his toys, and goes nuts on toy rotation day (which was today)! I just move one of his favs from back to front and he acted like it was new! It has great big bells on it, and he loves ringing those bells!

Libby, my GCC, also checks everything out when I rotate her toys, just to make sure they are perfect.

Angelina, my Parrotlet, plays with toys periodically, but doesn't care which ones they are. However, she DOES loves swings of any type, anything that swings that she can perch on! I have 3 types in her cage now and she takes turns in them all day long!
