Paper Mache Toys

I was at the store today looking at new toys for Bobby and I was looking for foraging toys as they looked really interesting (well I could sit for ages trying to work them out and I used to be an engineer, hehe).
These were just like those papermache heads I'm sure we all used to make when really young.
They were balls hanging on a string with other bits of paper hanging off them and other interesting things for them to toy with. They looked cool but for what they were they were bloody expensive!

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen these toys?

What glue do they use when making this stuff? I would love to make all our babies these to play with and destroy but being unable to work for the past 4 years makes it hard to just go out and buy toys that they so deserve

Thanks friends.

Those look like great fun but sadly I've never seen them before! I wouldn't have a clue how to make one. Good luck though

if you want to make one, you can use flour and water for glue.

take a balloon, and paper mache the balloon with paper and flour/water paste. let it dry and then pop the balloon and remove the balloon. perfectly safe and you can fill the empty shell left over with goodies

something i picked up from another forum

What Casey has said above I have done I spent 2 hours layering it with paper mâché . It was litterally hard as a rock.. But my conure loved it.. Was chewed through in a couple of days

Casey, you're a champion!

Thanks Kennedy, what mix/ratio is the flour to water? It's been so long since I have done any of that stuff
I might be an Airbrush artist and painter but I suck at basic craft

I'll start working on something a bit later tonight maybe, big day of semi working then a few hours working on a landscape

I've seen those too and never thought to make them myself. That's a great idea!
For the flour/water ratio I would assume to just make it the consistency of white glue that you'd use for crafts? Not too watery but not clumpy.
I think it might be craft time for me as well.

Yes you just have to play around with it until it's a steady stream.. No chunks but not watery

I may do another one of these tonight actually

We had the Birdie pinatas they loved them. This is one of the reasons I love this forum, everyboday has such great ideas. I am going to have to attempt this as well
