Confused and lost bird momma

Ive posted this a couple times before, but honestly ice doesnt play with her toys when I'm not home

I know she doesn't because every day I hide millet/food in her foraging toys and when I come back they are still there.

You can tell she is roosting in the same place because that's where all her poop is( poop normal, light green , equal amounts of each part) She is eating/drinking fine as well

I've tried everything. Shredder toys, beaded toys, acrylic toys, wooden toys, foraging toys, swings, boings,

She just.. I don't know, lazy when no one is home, and it upsets me because I'm gone 6 hours a day,But as soon as I'm home she is bouncing from toy to toy.
And she gets at least 1-5 hours of daily interaction when I get home, from me and my family.

I'm just puzzled on things I can do to help her. I want her to be happy in her cage while I'm away. ( I think I need to set up a camera that will somehow take a pic every 5 min to see what she is doing LOL)

Any help or suggestions are loved

Thank you for taking your time to read this

Sounds like she thinks she has no reason to live when your not around, we have some like that too. As for a camera, do you have a computer you can setup a webcam on, I do that sometimes to record my birds. You can set it up two different ways, one online so you can view it anywhere, you just have to take special percautions if you don't want anybody else to see it, or you can set it to record while your away and review it when you get home. If you have a digital camcorder you can set that up too.

I don't think it is necessarily to that extent. She isn't a complete blob, so much that she doesn't want to live any more.

I'm just hoping for some advice on what you do when your all are at work.

Lol, thats good. Some of our birds, especially my Moms will just sit on they're perch and not move or do anything when my Mom goes somewhere, they just act like there's no point in going on, then as soon as she gets back, all's well, life can go on again

May be a bit drastic, but have you thought of a second GCC? When I had Dexter she was a slob (well she still is a bit) but then I got Pickles and when he played she played and obviously they entertain each other. They are a lot more happy now that's for sure!

My cockatiel does the same thing! When I'm in the room she plays with all her toys and when I leave she just sits in a corner and pouts! That problem is the main reason I'm getting a second cockatiel soon! I don't want her to feel alone when I'm gone. I agree with Daisy! It's the perfect excuse to get another bird as well!

I have been thinking of another bird.
But honestly I know I won't be able to handle another gcc. Ice is enough crazy!! But I'm thinking a budgie/cockatiel.

And now that I have a job, I can afford everything!

When I bought ice, from the previous owner she was caged in with another green cheek and a female cockatiel.

The lady told me they got along very well,

It still will be a while before I can beg the parents for another one though.

Do you leave a radio on?

I leave the radio on for Rocky so he has some noises to keep him company, he loves the radio, he is however just as happy to be left alone if the washing machine is going lol.

I also leave the radio on for my birds, even when I'm home. They all entertain themselves just fine.

I do leave the radio on

I have put a mirror in the cage today and ice seemed very interested. So I set up my laptop and put on the webcam. So when I get home from school, we shall see how active she is all day

I can't wait haha my own little experiment.

I am also creating a track tonight of hours of bird calls so hope fully that will help as well!

I took a 30 min video with my camera! And ice is Very active when I'm away! She doesn't play with toys as much, but she deffinialty LOVES to sing to the radio! She was just singing the whole time and jumping from perch to perch!!
