Longest rope thread?

Ice LOOOOVES to preen. i cant express it enough

thats the 1 toy i found that will actually get her to do something LOL

im just worried that she will somehow tangle her self in the rope like the horror stories ive heard. So i keep the legnth of the string to a minimum maybe like 1/2 inch, when i buy toys the legnth is usually like 4 inches! im worried she will tangle herself!

but im wondering how long the thread would have to be to become entangled?.
ice doesnt necessaerily climb all over it, she just grabs it with 1 foot and well preens it

i want to make some better toys for her, so any ideas would be wonderful! thanks!

I think keeping the threads short is a good idea. I think the most I've done rope is about 2 inches or a tad more. It really depends on the size of the bird I am making a toy for.

If you are unsure of how she will play with it, then maybe leave it out of her cage to play with when she is out and you can watch her.

I agree with Delta. For a GC I would do about 1/2 to 1 inch.
