So here it begins.
I have been planning this for a few years.
I will attach pics and plans as we go.
I would like to explain it to start with.
In my back garden there is a 40' high evergreen tree.
tomorrow it is going, coming down.
It will be a blow to the local wildlife but it is a blight.
I wanted it down so the birds and squirrels can find alternative accommodation before spring.
It is a danger now.
In place of it, I shall have a 12' x 8' shed, with 2 6'x8' flights extending off of it with internal flight space also.
I will be removing my current aviary to make room for this project.
in one will be a mixture of quieter birds, my current tiel flock some rosybourkes and some bluebourkes and some linnies maybe 3 pairs.
I am hoping that by providing a large amount of space squabbling will be kept to a minimum. this aviary will have an 8' by 3' internal flight so the total area will be 8' x 9' x 6' high.
I'm hoping for a carbon fibre roof so that the light will be let in.
The other aviary will be used to house a pair of moustached parakeets.
They will have an external 6'x8'x6' high flight with an internal 3' x 6' flight.
I am opting for concrete floors but will be providing lots of climbing branches for the linnies in their flight.
What do you think?
they will all be breeding birds.
