A Comfy Sleep!
My Kakariki absoluetely loves sleeping in the bookshelf on the large flat books so that he can sit flat instead of having to hold onto a perch (As he is not even a year old yet). He also loves it because it's dark. Every now and then he will try and sleep on the lounge under a cushion leaning against the arm chair (Just like a cave) which is dangerous as he might get sat on.
By using all the key features of the places he likes to sleep I have put together a comfortable idea! I will use a Large PVC Pipe lined with fabric (I might even make a little cushion he can sit on in there
) and I will hang it in his cage so that he has a nice soft, dark hollow to sleep in. If I make the pipe about 20-30cm in length it should be dark and big enough. Since it is housing a kakariki i will use a pipe with a diameter of around 15cm or more.
Can't Wait to Post Pictures of this Easy DYI Design!
P.s Just after I posted this thread I was looking through the TalkCockatiels Forum and found this:
Please let me know if you think I will have some of the same problems as the Parrot Tent.
