Gecko Photos!

For those of you that want to see what I got an the Reptile Expo today, go here.

Oreo

Bubblegum

New Rack

Yay!! I was also going to get this super cute, gorgeous, frog butt, Crested Gecko but I didn't. I MAY see if the breeder still has him though and get him anyways.

They are both very beautiful! Your rack is awesome too (NOBODY SAY A THING!) I saw you had the two cresties in your Former Pets album but I was going to ask what happened I know the one passed away but I didn't know you didn't have the other I may have already asked too, but the leo as well! I'm really behind

The other baby Crestie died too. I think he was dehydrated as I was having issues keeping humidity up in his enclosure.
As for the Leo I re-homed him to someone in the local Reptile club as I wanted to keep my "pet only" Geckos down.

Oh poor little bubba! But that's fair enough about rehoming him. If you're working on a breeding project you're going to want to keep pets down

I know, I was so depressed when I found the little Crestie dead. Since it was the second one, both passed from different reasons, I felt like I had failed the breeder I got them both from.
And yes! I now have 3 pet only Geckos and I think even that is too much. I want to be able to give them all enough attention of course, even "breeders", so I don't want to have a bunch of pet only Geckos as well as breeders and then be overwhelmed.
He went to a great home though!

very nice geckos. Such different colors--are they natural color variations or mutations?

Thanks! Well mutations, or morphs, ARE natural. Original morphs such as Amelanistic AFTs would have originally been imported from the wild.

Oh, I didn't mean to imply that mutations are not natural I was just wondering if the color variation is the same mutation with a range of colors (light to dark) or if it is a mutation (such as amelanistic, to use your example) that is causing the difference in the colors.

It's a mutation that causes the different colors. Normal variations Re dark brown and light brown. ^_^ There are a bunch of different morphs.
