Talking After FOUR MONTHS missing we found him!

Oh my gosh oh my gosh oh my gosh. What a day!

Jack was running downstairs to get something from the kitchen when I hear "Daisy! Daisy! Come here quick!". I ran as fast as I could and he was running up the stairs at the same time. I was freaking out like crazy as I thought something awful had happened...

We found Frank!

My big, gorgeous lump of a corn snake I had presumed had been stolen back in February when a lot of my expensive things had gone missing (but not animals, except Frank). Apparently he was about to have a drink from Bailey's water bowl so we think he has been living in the kitchen! He's pretty darn underweight and very, very cold. But he's okay in himself. I'm going to gradually start to fatten him up and make him feel better. Bit stupid of me though, I gave away his vivarium to Jack's step dad for their corn snake, Cesar, and now I need it again! Sigh. He's in a tub at the moment for now

I just can't believe it. When I saw him my eyes just welled up and I broke down. I was yelling and crying and in so much shock. I had accepted that I was never going to see him again and not a day went by when I wasn't checking on the other herps that I wished he was still with me. I know you're not supposed to have a favourite, but well, he's mine. When I got him he was skinny, aggressive, housed improperly and going through an awful shed. I'd got him up to a good weight, calmed him down and made him the wonderful companion animal he is and got his housing spot on. After the 3rd? shed he had with me, it was a complete one! So losing him hit me really hard. I'd lost all of my companion parrots, my Kenyan sand boa went missing, my things went missing, he went missing, my dogs were at the vets. Everything and anything

He's spent most of the night snuggled up on me, stealing my warmth. I couldn't care less though, it's AMAZING to see him again

I will pop up a couple of photos either later on or in the morning. But I just HAD to tell you guys

Hey man, that is brilliant! That is quite strange because earlier on in the day when we chatted - you had mentioned about your missing corn snake and now he's turned up after 3 months so cool, I'm happy for you.

That's great news. It's pretty common for reptiles to show up after a long absence. I'm so glad it happened to you.:-)

You lost all your companion birds? How terrible!

Since I'm a newbie, I missed this. Don't expect you to go through all of it to explain, but did someone break in? What? Don't think I'd be able to keep myself sane if that happened.

Glad you have your guy back. I really didn't think I'd ever meet someone so bonkers on anything living like I am. (*to self, I'm really not abnormal. There really are people like me in this world*) Our house is a zoo at the moment (dogs, cats, birds, and feeding/watering wildlife outside. I've had possums before in back yard living under our tool shed that I've fed. Rescued some box turtles, who promptly disappeared from my back yard last Summer.)

Wow, I'm so happy you guys found him! That's a big adventure for a snake to have in a house. Especially since he managed to keep himself in a somewhat healthy condition as well. I know they can go quite a bit without eating if they need to, but four months wow! Corn snakes are resilient little things, its pretty remarkable. We had one of our corn snakes missing in our house for little over a month, years ago, we found her crawling out of the stove when we were bringing groceries in one day.

Thank you! I believe a snake in good health can go up to a year if I am correct! It's insane, but very amazing. I see you have 7 tortoises, what species? I absolutely love leopard torts but I think I'm going to have to go with horsefield for the time being

Wow, I was thinking a few months tops. Franks pretty big though, so I could definitely see it. It's awful to lose the pets we love, but I can't even imagine how happy you were to see him out of no where.

We have desert tortoises (: three adults, two one-year olds, and two babies a few months old. They live with us half the year with access to the whole backyard, and the other half at my mom's school. She turned a massive planter between two classrooms into a tortoise heaven, and she uses them as a teaching tool at the school for semi-local species, since they're officially listed as a 'vulnerable'.

They're a lot of fun to have, they chase down my mom when she goes outside cause they know they're going to get fed. I dunno, I've seen some absolutely amazing indoor set ups. It's always possible.

I had a whole post written that I lost (when a PM arrived) about box turtles, which is what we call them here in Texas.
They are cute little fellas. Don't have the energy now to repeat the book I'd written. I had some last Summmer that I rescued and put into my backyard, but they promptly dissappered....... under my tool shed, I hope, where all the mealy bugs live. One was running across the street to my house on the hot, hot asphalt road. Absolutely running. The lady across the street had moved and left half of her outdoor cats (which I then adopted when they came over here), and he was probs looking for some leftover cat food. He reappeared this Spring after I'd deep watered the shrubs in my front yard. I threw him some cat food nuggets some of which he ate , and then was gone the next time I looked with the remainder still on the ground.

Long story. I've got to go right now.

Sweet little creatures.
