Thank you! And yes he will. He'll probably get to be around 80-100 lbs.

He is a cutie. Puppies are a lot of work, but oh so cute. At the time when I got my other dogs I couldn't handle if they had been puppies, but maybe my next dog will be one....I'll see how it goes with yours . Keep us updated!

Our vet said he's most likely Rhodesian Ridgeback with a little bit of pittie, but not much. He's almost 14 weeks now. He's about half the size of our female pittie Greyhound, but she's tiny, around 40 lbs. Bucky's about 23 lbs now.

Poor Lily! Bucky's a little menace. He just wants to play play play all day, and he doesn't understand that she's cranky due to a foot injury (she stepped in some sharp glass in the yard). He doesn't like leashes very much, but he is a quick learner. We've got him to almost sit. He sleeps very well, mgoes straight to his bed if I ask him to. He's slowly realizing that he can jump, as well. I definitely wouldn't recommend a Rhodesian to anyone that's new to dogs. They have tons of energy and need lots of walks. Unfortunately, we have to wait until after his next vet visit to take him for any walks.

He will probably need to wear a harness when we walk him, like we do with Lily. I feel bad for her, since he loves bothering her. She's very gentle with him, but I can definitely tell when she says enough is enough

No, he isn't! He's almost 5 months now, and he's about the size of Lily. He went from 23 to 36 pounds in a month! Now that I'm off school for the summer I'm going to start basic training for him. Depending on how well he trains, I might try to start conditioning him for dog sports. A family friend is a professional dog trainer, so maybe I'll have her spend some time with him and see what sport he's best suited for.

Sounds like a good plan I'm sure the dog will appreciate all the activity to keep him busy and healthy, and it will help him be a much calmer tired pup when he comes home after playing.

When Lily, our older dog, was young, we tried to get her interested in dog sports, but her time as a stray affected her temperament too much. She's very wary of new people and is fear aggressive with new dogs, so she was never a good choice. Our dog that passed away in early April would've been a perfect flyball dog when he was young, but by the time I was old enough to seriously train him for it, he was already approaching senior years and it would've been too strenuous for him. So Bucky might be my first competition dog! The four sports I'm willing to try are dock diving, weight pulling, disc dog, and agility.

Those are interesting sports for a dog, I hope he likes one or two of them.

He hasn't been too interested in the discs I've had lying around, even when I try to make them as fun as possible. He hasn't been swimming yet, but he likes to bite water when it comes out of the hose. He's very strong for a puppy, so weight pulling could be a possibility. He takes great fun in jumping over the obstacles we set in place so he can't get into my mom's boyfriend's garden, so we could possibly put those skills to good use .

He sounds like a character, he's got time to learn about the discs etc he's still young.
