Unhappy Kitten with possible respiratory infection

So we brought our runt of our cat's litter in about last Thursday or Wednesday and she's been really good (not bothering birds (can't keep her anywhere else :/ ) or tearing things up). But yesterday, she started having crusty stuff build up on her nose and I cleaned it off last night but it came back.

I called the vet this morning and it'll cost us $70 to have her checked and get medicine. But just a few minutes ago, I was cleaning her nose, just like I did last night, and now there's blood in it. I think it's from her moving and the dried discharge pulling but I'm still worried. She's eating, but not much (guess it's because she can't smell it) and I've looked at like ten websites and all I've found that I can do until we can go to the vet is put her in a steamy room for about 5 minutes??

Has anyone here had any experience with this and can you give me any advice so I can at least help her nose clear up a little? She sounds like it's stuffy and I hate that we can't take her today. I'd really like any information you can give me because I wanna try and make her a little more comfortable in the meantime.
