Bandit boy

A few phone photos of little Bandit from earlier He's gone through his first molt so he's half way to adult plumage and he's definitely lost some barring and become lighter

Looking a bit lost

*gasp*

Get out!

Shouting but he's got his leg up to go to sleep

Love his new aviary! He's had a guillotine door put on to the left hand side so people who don't want to go in and feed him don't have to

You're leaving?

For those who think I have loads of room, my garden is like a game of tetris

Well, one of them anyways! I've yet to get my new aviaries up at the new house

he is so gorgeous!! is he a falcon? I can't believe those talons! I'm assuming you got him as a young bird? (because he is tame with you)

Most raptors can be trained at any age, it's the weight management with tiny birds that makes them difficult. He was crèche reared from an egg and I got him at 6 weeks old I think? I'm sure I did. But they're not like parrots. They get fed whenever and you can leave them a fair bit without worrying about them starving or anything

He is an American kestrel, so yes a falcon his talons are so, so, so puny. His current weight is about 120g. Most of my parrots weigh a lot more

Thanks Bandit won't have them after his second molt, he will only have a couple, less noticeable ones. As a baby his back was completely striped and his front very dotty

I love Bandit! I love how teeny tiny Kestrals are. They're all "Grawr, I'm a scary Raptor" but really, ha.
He looks so fluffy and soft in these photos!
