Some thug attacked Boots

I wanted to post it on here because I need a vent

Some horrible neanderthal shot my cat with a BB gun!!! I heard banging outside last night and didn't think anything of it. We have a lot of idiots in my road who shouldn't even be allowed to reproduce. Put it this way, you wouldn't get me even leaving my house at night it's so rough at times. When we first moved in we had a daily police patrol! I heard a cat whining too, but again, that isn't uncommon. They yowl a lot in the night around here. Boots has only recently started going outside and she only goes around the garden and not much further. I opened the back door and called her in because I don't like her being out there, she came running back as normal. It was about half an hour later that I noticed blood and obviously I freaked out. Then I noticed a big chunk of her fur missing on the top of her head and a clear pellet wound. I cannot believe (well... I can actually!) that somebody would be so mean and stupid to hurt a cat! She's okay, I cleaned up the wound and it looks worse than it is but it's the fact that somebody would even do that to an animal that shocks me. I'm sorry if I didn't write this very well, I'm just so freakin disgusted

Oh my God, I'm rather shocked. Can't you leave this terrible area, Daisy?
It's nothing for a young lady like you.

I'd be out of here in a heartbeat if I could but sadly it's the only place I can rent with the animals we're going to save for a deposit on a house starting next year so we can have our own place back in a nicer area. I hate it here!

I'm attaching a poor photo of the wound after cleaning it, but it's not very clear

That's horrible, I'm glad she is doing okay though, it could have been much worse. I used to take walks around my neighborhood when I lived in Florida. There was a feral cat that hung out around a house of a guy that would leave food out for it. The first time I saw it I cried, the cat was missing half it's face....like you wouldn't even understand how it was still living. It had an ear and eye missing and a deep crevice into it's head that was just raw and red (sorry for the graphic description). I asked the guy about it one day and he said that it was a feral cat and that he believed some kids down the street shot it. He said he had tried to catch it multiple times to take it to the vet and have it euthanized but it was too quick...but low and behold a year later the cat was still alive and he still left food and water out for it and it slept under his truck. I still thought about calling animal control or something because it looked so horrible...but it just seemed so content living on this guy's front porch/driveway/garage and didn't seem to be in any pain. The guy said it let him scratch it's ear sometimes now. I figured it wasn't really my place and that animal control would likely just euthanize it.

It carries the same penaulty as any gun.
But you have to report it.
If a pellet is shot on your property i.e.lands inside your propert then its an offence.
My friend had a pidgeon shot in her garden with an air rifle.
The bloke got 6 months and revoked his licence.
Next door shot at my aviary with pellets.
Police did nothing.
So the little darling climbed over my fence and got shot in the butt!
Police came out then but don't know who did it.
These people are disgusting.
Poor Boots.
Proper Jeremy Kyle candidates I should think.

LOL Kate you'd think I was living on the set of that show

I have actually found out who it may possibly be AND I know where they live. Apparently his mother would already know so there's no use but I can take it to the police

Wingnut, that sounds really painful, but if he's content then I see no need to remove him for now but the guy may have to call somebody eventually if his condition ever gets any worse. Poor creature

I moved from Florida over 14 months ago, so unfortunately I have no idea how the cat is doing.

Heard about this on Facebook and am still in disbelief. How anyone could do that just amazes me. I think you should definitely go to the police.
