lots and lots of art

i have been pretty busy drawing (and looking at drawing on pinterest!). i am drawing better than i ever imagined i could [i guess practice makes perfect] lol

i have been really expanding on what i draw with too, and the style.

i'll new oldest to newest, starting with the 2 dogs that i have posted on here before...

*first attempt at drawing a person* i am pretty happy with it...but it looks nothing like the original (pencils and white charcoal)

finished. i didn't really "finish" the drawing, the shirt should have been colored more..oh well. as you can tell, i really like drawing eyes

the deer (prismacolor pencils)

finished. if i could do it over again, i would shorten the nose

now the horse, I'm not sure if this was really the most time consuming or not. i used chalk pastels and prismacolor pencils.

finished. odd angle of photography, but i at least finished this one!

the eye.. one of my favorites! prismacolors. (ignore the paper or pencils in the next ones, i was covering my name )

the golden. mostly chalk pastels and some prismacolors. I'm not totally happy about the narrow muzzle, but you don't notice theses things until you are done

of course birds are my worst drawings! i only like the cere and beak.. this is Pickle... i didn't finish the feet lol

pen drawing, unlike the rest of my art, the more i see this one, the more i like it

little zentangle with white gel pen (just for fun!)

now the crazy things. nothing traced (that goes for the rest of my art too). "bean" with hat and glasses

"butch" with winter hat

this was a "just for the heck of it" drawing. pen/marker and pencil. i have "meh" feeling for this one

first attempt at a cat. i am pretty happy with this one. could have had a better shaped head (pencils)

last but not least, my most recent zentangle...

I love the eyes in the portrait pic you've done, yes you do have a thing for eyes and you do it well!

The deer is good but the horse is awesome!!!!!

As well as the dog and the pen drawing of the corvid? You really have amazing talent and skill so keep at it.

Thanks for mentioning you did the zentangle in white gel pen as I had no idea they existed. I just googled and found there are white markers as well which will come in handy for an art project I've been messing with.

As always I love your zentangles, they would make amazing designs on easter eggs.

Bean and Butch are too cute and you did a great job on your cat and other bird. I'm impressed.

thanks!

i think the eagle is a golden eagle.. not sure though. i got my white gel pen at the craft store. i was having a hard time finding something white that i could use in my drawings (white charcoal and colored pencil don't show), and so i got a gel pen. i really just use it for the really bright highlights like i did in the eye. my next thing i want to get is oil pastels, since they seem like the ultimate drawing tool i want to draw a car to switch it up, but i am so picky about which pictures i choose to draw. i have several other things i would like to draw too . i also bought and "Accurasee" proportional divider. it seemed like a great idea, but i find it hard to use i tiried to use it on the cat, and well, his face is a little smooshed

I use to use oil pastels a lot when I drew, they make blending interesting and can give some amazing colorful highlights on a picture. You will enjoy working with them so do get them.

I found using tools like the prop divider takes time, you'll figure it out yet. I look back at things I drew years ago and was so happy with at the time and laugh because I realize what a difference I've made in time. Just keep doing what you love and you will improve with time.

I found I love to zone out when drawing or paining and creating something its cathartic and relaxing when you do work like your zentangles or working on a detailed picture.

i am totally embarrassed at things i have drawn years ago that i thought were good at the time I'm sure i will feel the same way about these drawing in the future

oddly enough, i dint think i "enjoy" drawing, or a least the detailed things. i think its just because i don't have the colors i need and then i get stuck or i have a great picture in my head and my hand can't draw it XD. i do enjoy the pen drawings like the eagle and bean and butch. i like doing the zentangle until i run out of patterns to draw!
